Answer: Non-surgical options include splinting or casting of the injured hand/finger depending on the type and complexity of injury. If the tendon rupture includes a fracture of a carpal bone and there is instability of the fracture or dislocation, your surgeon may elect to have your hand placed into a cast after realignment with further splinting if appropriate.
